Maren Morris recently pointed to several women in country music who are gaining attention across the genre, naming Ella Langley, Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney as current artists she is watching.
In her comments, Morris noted the amount of activity surrounding women in country right now. Langley, Wilson and Moroney have each built momentum through recent releases, radio presence, awards recognition and touring.
The conversation comes during a year when women have had a strong showing in country music awards circles. At the 2025 ACM Awards, women received more nominations than men for the first time in the event’s history.
Morris has long been part of the discussion around women’s visibility in country music. Her own career includes major country radio success, including The Bones, which spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart.
The broader picture shows a country landscape where several female artists are reaching wider audiences at the same time, across both mainstream and newer platforms.
